Instructions for the Bichon Frise

Hi there! Thanks for adopting some Bichon Frises!
🐾  Your new pupper can't wait to get started playing with you. 🐾
❤️

But first, some important stuff to note about animesh, which is what these bichons are...

  • Animesh requires an animesh capable second life viewer.
You can download the latest SL viewer here.
Or check out third-party viewers here.
  • Animesh can't be resized. This isn't our choice; it's a second life thing. Sorry!
  • You can only wear one animesh object at a time.
... unless you have a premium account, then you can have two.
Again, this isn't our choice; it's a second life thing. Sorry!
All of the Bichon Frise products use very similar HUDs and each 'pack' uses the same HUD between the products within it. If you have the fat pack, you'll need to look for the name of the product you want to work with and use the proper HUD to communicate with it.
When you make a change that's important to note, it will let you know in local chat with a private to you (owner) message.

Let's go over the different parts of the HUD.

A. Minimize Button

The minimize button closes the full view of the HUD and brings you to the welcome view. Click on this view to go back into the Functions view of the HUD and begin working with a pupper.

B. Help/Info Buttons

These four buttons do the following, in order from left to right:
Help Page - will bring you to this page!
Landmark - dispenses a landmark to the Jian main store
Group - will give you a link to join our store group in local chat
Website - takes you to our blog at http://www.jiansl.co

C. Name Palette
The name palette lets you give your buddy (the one you've clicked to work with or your worn companion/held) a floating text name.

Set - Set the text
Clear - Erases any existing floating name
Colors - Change the color of your pet's name

D. Sound Toggle

Turn your pupper's panting/barking sounds on or off.
Green for on, Red for off.

E. Phantom Toggle

Toggle your pet's 'phantom' status (collision, off means it can push you around)
Green for on, Red for off.

F. Wander On/Off

Turn your *selected* wander pupper on or off.
These controls only work for wanderers.

An important note regarding wanderer/sitter/bed functionality:
When you click to select the wanderer you are working with (or sitter/bed) that selection will stay active for 10 seconds. You can only change options on that item within that 10 second time frame and the selection particle will be active to reflect that. With every button you click to change that bichon you currently have selected, the selection 10 second limit will refresh.
Please make sure you have your desired wanderer/sitter/bed selected when you go to press buttons!

G. Radius Wanderer Options

You MUST select a wanderer to work with first!
You do this by left clicking on the wanderer you want to change. If they're actively selected, you will see the selected particle floating above it (make sure you have particles enabled!)

Click any number on this palette and that is how far from your initial starting point that your wanderer can roam in any given direction.

H. Animations Palette

Your pet can perform at least two animations and up to four depending on which kind it is.
Shared product HUDs will label which animation are specific to specific products.

Click the red rectangle  to eliminate that animation from your pet's animation cycle.
Click the green triangle  to force that animation to immediately play and restore it to the animation cycle.

I. Functions View

This tab will bring you back to the 'functions' view if you are in 'textures' view

J. Textures View

This tab will bring you back to the 'textures' view if you are in 'functions' view.
Once in the texture's view, you will be able to change the textures of the specific product you are working with and have a full view of colors/furs/etc.

Each set of swatches is labeled as to what it changes.
The top three set of swatches (shirt metal, patterns, colors) will always pertain strictly to the clothed version of the Bichon Frise.
Below those sets you will always have options for fur color and whatever else may pertain to your product.

Wanderers: How-to and Important notes

It is important to note that your wanderer MUST BE SELECTED and have the selection particle floating above it as pictured above for it to register any commands from the HUD.

To start, with the HUD attached, click on the wanderer you want to work with.
This will make a particle appear over top of one of your dogs on the parcel that looks like the one to the left.

This icon will continue to float over top of your dog until you are finished with its options and turn it on.

With your chosen wanderer selected, as reflected by the particle over top of it, you can then change...
- Phantom: whether your dog can physically push avatars and other physical objects around or not
- Radius: click a number that represents how far in meters your dog can wander from where you turn it on.
- On/off: green turns your wanderer on, red stops it and returns it to its starting point

Companions/Attachables: How-to and Important Notes

Companions do not come with any product-specific functions, but there are some important things to note.

Companions must attach to your "Avatar Center".
You could attach it to your hand or something, but then the dog will flail and move wherever your hand goes and that's gonna be a bit crazy. So hey, if you need to reset where your dog is attached, right click it in your inventory, hover over "Attach to" choose "Avatar Center".
This will allow you to move your dog into a position where it can walk and move alongside of your avatar. It's best to get the dog even with the ground, even if your avatar is floating in its animations. You could have the dog float in the air, but again, kinda weird. You do you, though!

You can ONLY have up to 2 animesh items attached. You could choose two dogs, but if you have two companion dogs attached, the HUD will affect them *both*.
If you want to give your companions a name or customization option, we recommend you attach them one at a time to change their textures and name them. Once you're done, wear them both and bam, you're good to go with your new doggo buddies.

Helds and Purse Pups function almost identically to companions but use their own HUD and override your arm animations, which can be turned off if desired as well.

Sitters & Bed: Important Notes

The sitters and palette bed bichons are decorative items meant to be left in one place that include or are an animated pet.
Like wanderers, you'll need to click the one you want to change before the HUD will work with it.
This goes for texture changes, animation playing, etc.

An important note regarding wanderer/sitter/bed functionality:
When you click to select the sitter or bed you are working with that selection will stay active for 10 seconds. You can only change options on that item within that 10 second time frame and the selection particle will be active to reflect that. With every button you click to change that bichon you currently have selected, the selection 10 second limit will refresh.
Please make sure you have your desired wanderer/sitter/bed selected when you go to press buttons!
