Instructions for Cat

Hi there! Thanks for adopting some new kitties!
🐾  Your new cats can't wait to get started playing with you. 🐾
❤️

But first, some important stuff to note about animesh, which is what these are...

  • Animesh requires an animesh capable second life viewer.
You can download the latest SL viewer here.
Or check out third-party viewers here.
  • Animesh can't be resized. This isn't our choice; it's a second life thing. Sorry!
  • You can only wear one animesh object at a time.
... unless you have a premium account, then you can have two.
Again, this isn't our choice; it's a second life thing. Sorry!

All of the cat products use very similar HUDs and each 'pack' uses the same HUD between the products within it. If you have the fat pack, you'll need to look for the name of the product you want to work with and use the proper HUD to communicate with it.
When you make a change that's important to note, it will let you know in local chat with a private to you (owner) message.

With that out of the way, let's get on with some info for you~

Companion & Wanderer HUD Functions

This HUD applies to all products with 'Companion' or 'Wanderer' in the name.
We'll go through each section and explain the functions.

NAME
Set - Will produce a drop down blue menu for you to input a text name on your currently worn companion(s).
Clear - Will erase any floating text name applied to your currently worn companion(s).
Palette - Click to change the color of the floating text name of your currently worn companion(s).
^ these functions also work for your wanderers, but the wanderer must be actively selected (see below) to register the command.

WANDERERS
It is important to note that your wanderer MUST BE SELECTED and have the selection particle floating above it as pictured above for it to register any commands from the HUD.
To start, with the HUD attached, click on the wanderer you want to work with. This will make a particle appear over top of one of your animals on the parcel that looks like the one to the right. This icon will continue to float over top of your animal until you are finished with its options and turn it on.

With your chosen wanderer selected, as reflected by the particle over top of it, you can then change...
- Phantom: whether your animal can physically push avatars and other physical objects around or not
- Radius: click a number that represents how far in meters your animal can wander from where you turn it on.
- On/off: green turns your wanderer on, red stops it and returns it to its starting point

An important note regarding wanderer/posed animal functionality:
When you click to select the wanderer you are working with (or posed animal) that selection will stay active for 10 seconds. You can only change options on that item within that 10 second time frame and the selection particle will be active to reflect that. With every button you click to change that reindeer you currently have selected, the selection 10 second limit will refresh.
Please make sure you have your desired item selected when you go to press buttons!

PHANTOM
This will toggle your pet's 'phantom' status.
This means your pet will either be able to bump into physical objects, like your avatar, or if phantom is on your pet is basically a ghost that will pass through everything.

SOUND
Toggle your pet's sounds on/off.

ANIMATIONS
Your dogs (companion & wanderer) can perform four animations on command.
Click the red rectangle  to eliminate that animation from your pet's animation cycle.
Click the green triangle  to force that animation to immediately play and restore it to the animation cycle.

Wanderers & Decor Items: How-to and Important notes

It is important to note that your wanderer or decor item MUST BE SELECTED and have the selection particle floating above it as pictured above for it to register any commands from the HUD.

To start, with the HUD attached, click on the wanderer you want to work with.
This will make a particle appear over top of one of your pets on the parcel that looks like the one to the left.

This icon will continue to float over top of your pet until you are finished with its options and turn it on.

With your chosen wanderer selected, as reflected by the particle over top of it, you can then change...
- Phantom: whether your pet can physically push avatars and other physical objects around or not
- Radius: click a number that represents how far in meters your pet can wander from where you turn it on.
- On/off: green turns your wanderer on, red stops it and returns it to its starting point

An important note regarding selecting:
When you click to select the wanderer you are working with (or sitter/bed) that selection will stay active for 10 seconds. You can only change options on that item within that 10 second time frame and the selection particle will be active to reflect that. With every button you click to change that bichon you currently have selected, the selection 10 second limit will refresh.
Please make sure you have your desired item selected when you go to press buttons!

Companions/Attachables: How-to and Important Notes

Companions do not come with any product-specific functions, but there are some important things to note.

Companions must attach to your "Avatar Center".
You could attach it to your hand or something, but then the pet will flail and move wherever your hand goes and that's gonna be a bit crazy. So hey, if you need to reset where your dog is attached, right click it in your inventory, hover over "Attach to" choose "Avatar Center".
This will allow you to move your dog into a position where it can walk and move alongside of your avatar. It's best to get the pet even with the ground, even if your avatar is floating in its animations. You could have the pet float in the air, but again, kinda weird. You do you, though!

You can ONLY have up to 2 animesh items attached. You could choose two pet, but if you have two companion  pets attached, the HUD will affect them *both*.
If you want to give your companions a name or customization option, we recommend you attach them one at a time to change their textures and name them. Once you're done, wear them both and bam, you're good to go with your new buddies.

Texture and Fluff/Eye Option Changing

With the cats, we're introducing separate HUDs specifically just for texture and appearance changes.
One HUD works with ALL cats in every pack, though the accessories with some of them have their own texture palette HUD.

JIAN Cat Collection HUD Textures // Cat
- changes ALL cats, even in the stroller or as parts of decor
This HUD also has two features of note aside from texture change:

Eye Dilation
set a specific pupil dilation of your worn or selected cat, or allow for them to dynamically change based on the animation they perform automatically

Fluff

choose whether your cat is extra fluffy or a sleek beast

JIAN Cat Collection HUD Textures // Stroller
- changes the texture/color of your stroller in the Held & Stroller pack only

JIAN Cat Collection HUD Textures // Decor
- changes the texture of ALL decor pieces from the Decor pack
- you must follow the directions above regarding clicking to select the decor piece you wish to work with for this HUD to work with your decor
